Significance of Shab-e-Meraj
Shab-e-Meraj, also referred to as the Night of Ascension, holds significant importance in Islamic history. It is observed on the 27th night of Rajab, the seventh month of the Islamic calendar.
This night commemorates the miraculous journey of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) from the Kaaba in Mecca to the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, followed by his ascension to the heavens, known as Miraj.
It was during this divine journey that the Prophet received instructions from Allah, including the establishment of the five daily prayers (Salah) as a fundamental pillar of Islam.
Muslims consider Shab-e-Meraj a night of immense spiritual significance, marked by divine blessings and forgiveness. It is believed to be a time when Allah’s mercy is abundant.
Devotees often spend the night in special prayers, recitation of the Quran, and seeking forgiveness for their sins. Shab-e-Meraj is seen as an opportunity to strengthen one’s faith, seek guidance, and express gratitude to Allah for His boundless mercy.
Shab-e-Meraj serves as a powerful reminder of the profound connection between Muslims and their Creator.
