Miami, FL – Pakistani karate sensation Shahzaib Rind has once again proven his dominance in the lightweight division, successfully defending his title with a decisive 7-0 victory over former three-time world champion Edgars Skrivers at Karate Combat 52, the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PMMAF) confirmed.
The event, held in Miami, Florida, is part of the globally recognized Karate Combat league, which showcases professional full-contact karate competition.
“In a stunning display of skill and determination, Rind has claimed his second championship title after a hard-fought victory against Edgars Skrivers,” the PMMAF stated, praising Rind’s “extraordinary” performance and attributing his success to his dedication, rigorous training, and exceptional skill.
Rind’s impressive record of 75-4 in combined Wushu and Kickboxing speaks volumes about his commitment to martial arts. Remarkably, the Balochistan native honed his early skills through self-training, utilizing YouTube videos as his guide.
He now trains at the renowned Goat Shed gym in Miami under the tutelage of Asim Zaidi, who also serves as the president of Karate Combat. Zaidi has played a pivotal role in promoting the league, which has held events worldwide since 2018.
The Pakistani Embassy in New York lauded Rind’s achievement, recognizing it as a moment of national pride. “Heartfelt congratulations to MMA fighter Shahzaib Rind, the brave son of Pakistan who hails from Balochistan, on defending his lightweight title in Miami and becoming the world champion for the second time,” the embassy shared on X.
Dedicating his victory to the people of Pakistan, Rind further cemented his status as a national hero. His journey, marked by perseverance and hard work, continues to inspire fans and supporters, who eagerly await his next move.
Rind’s martial arts career began in Balochistan, where he secured his first title at a provincial competition in 2011. He gained national prominence in 2019 after winning the National Games in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Throughout his undefeated two-and-a-half-year tenure in Karate Combat, Rind has faced and defeated elite fighters from North America, Peru, Venezuela, Brazil, France, and India, solidifying his position as a force to be reckoned with in the world of combat sports.
